About Tracy Bridal
Céad míle fáilte. Tracy Bridal was established in 1990 and grew into Galway's longest-established, award-winning bridal house — trusted by thousands of brides to get it right. This is the story behind it.
Setting Standards
I've been in the bridal business for over thirty years, but my journey in design and fashion started from an early age — with my first bespoke commission at the age of fourteen. I continued designing and creating bespoke pieces for my clients throughout my twenties. It was during this time that I noticed a gap in the market that would allow me to expand my skills into another area of design: debs dresses. That was my first foray into the world of special occasion dresses, and it quickly grew to include bridesmaid and wedding dresses. At that early stage of the venture I meticulously designed and crafted all of the dresses myself.
My reputation for service and choice grew, and so did the business. As Tracy Bridal evolved, so did my role. I was lucky that the work took me to the fashion capitals of Europe — Paris, London and Barcelona — in search of new collections. Those buying trips were always exciting: a chance to see what was new in bridal, and often a chance to contribute ideas to upcoming designs. My background in tailoring and design gave me a real advantage when choosing quality, well-made dresses that could be modified easily for the individual bride. Anyone who loves the craft side of bridal fashion will enjoy the wedding dress collections held by the Victoria and Albert Museum, which trace how gown construction has evolved over two centuries.

What Set Us Apart
Tracy Bridal became renowned for knowledgeable stylists and professional service, creating a personalised and enjoyable shopping experience around an extensive collection of wedding dresses from sought-after European design houses. The philosophy was simple:
- The dress should reflect the bride. Each bride is unique, and her wedding dress should reflect her personality, not a passing trend.
- Fit comes first. A beautifully fitted dress that complements a bride's figure will ensure she glows on her wedding day.
- No pressure, ever. The right dress announces itself; a stylist's job is to listen, edit and encourage — never to rush.
That approach earned the house Bridalwear Supplier of the Year and Wedding Boutique of the Year honours in 2017, 2018 and 2020.
A Collection for Every Bride
The collection was varied and unique, covering every budget and every setting. New gowns arrived continually from the main fashion shows in London, Barcelona and beyond. Brides were always advised to start their search about twelve months before the wedding, as a made-to-order gown can take up to six months to arrive — with time needed afterwards for the alterations that give that perfect fit. For brides on a shorter timeline there was an extensive off-the-rail collection that could be bought on the day; our journal post on buying a wedding dress off the rack explains how that works and what to check before you commit.
Because no boutique can showcase every gown online, brides were always encouraged to bring photographs of their dream dress. As one bride famously put it, choosing from the collection felt like being "a child in a sweetshop" — and that is where expertise comes in. A good stylist can listen for a few minutes and quickly filter hundreds of gowns down to the handful worth trying.
Beyond the Wedding Dress
Tracy Bridal was never only about wedding gowns. The house dressed generations of Irish families — First Holy Communion dresses for daughters, debs gowns for school-leavers, and bridesmaid dresses for the whole wedding party. That breadth is reflected across this site, from our sizing charts to the bridal journal, where the practical knowledge of three decades is written down for the next generation of brides.
